When you do self-discovery it's not always just discovery the best, it also means discovery the worst part of yourself, the ugliest part of your soul and you have to embrace those ugly-horrible parts of yourself to be able to determine what is the best version of yourself. It's not even being the best in something, it's being the best version of yourself.
I remember Vanessa Valdez said:
"I'm not expecting you to be like me, I'm actually expecting you to be better than me. And more than anything, I am expecting you to be a better version of yourself." Because it is really true that we can only be THE BEST by being who we really are.
Actually, discovery does not mean a quarter-life crisis to happen... If you really want to discover who you are, all you need to do is reflect everyday and ask yourself what you did. Pero ayon nga! Kailangan may honesty 'yon na tanggapin mo, 'okay this is a part of me I don't like', but that doesn't mean you are a bad person, it's just that you are imperfect and you're living this life to find way to make yourself better - not even perfect.
Because I believe you are perfectible but I don't think you'll ever be perfect this life.
And this life is a forever self-discovery because as we grow, we continually find something new about ourselves, it can be good or bad, but both are something that can make us better version of ourselves.
